My Life’s Meaning
It is a good subject for me to cover since I have never gone through this topic seriously before. What is the meaning of life? What does it matter to me? At the first glance of these questions, I cannot come up with any idea since it might be a little bit deep and thoughtful for me. However, after drinking a cup of coffee on my comfortable chair, I think life might not be full of challenges and chasing money or high careers as some other people may think. In my opinion, life itself dose not have exact meaning, in contrast, its meanings are coming from people’s mind. In other words, what is the meaning of life depends on how a person thinks it is.
For me, I do not require life to be filled with endless competitions and hard work. On the contrary, life should be harmonious, happy and comfortable as long as a person himself/herself thinks it is meaningful. That is to say, no matter what roles people play in life, a cleaner or a president, as long as he/she is satisfied with it and that job does contribute to our society, his/her life is a meaningful life for sure.
Aside from harmony, happiness and comfort of life, we should have positive life attitudes, which I think is the most important part of life. With positive attitudes, one can think actively compared with the other side of negative ones. For instance, just like a half bottle of water putting on table, as a viewer, there might be two kinds of opinions coming out. Some people with positive attitudes may say that there is still half bottle left which is so great. However, some others with negative attitudes in life may think that half of the water has gone which is so sad. Actually, when facing problems in life, most of the time people with positive attitudes will work through it and consider all of the problems as chances of fostering their abilities of reaching their final successes. Hence, life will be more meaningful with a positive attitude.
In conclusion, I want my life to be full of harmony, happiness and comfort as well as I should have positive attitude toward my entire life.

People think life's meaning differently. Some may think competitions make life meaningful. Some may don't, just like you. But when do you think you can live a life without competitions?
I can see that you had your coffee and were sitting in a comfy chair, Jackie, when you wrote this. You are bliss. Mellow. Idealistic.
Endless competitions, hard work, blah blah blah. Lihe has all of that. But can we seriously always have harmony, or happiness, or comfort? What happens when the "bad things happen"? When the vandals climb over the wall? Who can we turn to? What will we have learned?
I wanna see you "go deep" this semester. I want to see you explore the edge of your soul!
